“From cargo fraud and Mother Nature to ever-changing food safety regulations and a new presidential administration that could bring an increase in tariffs, cost of goods, and more, many of today's supply chain leaders are faced with a number of challenges,” says Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “But it's their resilience, hard work, innovation, and attention to quality that separates these rock stars apart from everyone else. Every year, this award puts a spotlight on the best of the best in the cold chain industry.”
Ryder’s 2025 Rock Stars of the Supply Chain award winners are:
Darin Cooprider, senior vice president & general manager of CPG and international supply chain solutions for Ryder, is recognized in the “Leaders in Excellence” category. Known for his expertise in continuous improvement and process optimization, Darin oversees 150+ warehouses totaling 65 million square feet, $1.5 billion in transportation operations, and more than 400 customer accounts across North America. Darin fosters a culture of collaboration and empowerment, encouraging team growth and nurturing the next generation of leaders.
Chad Cross, recently promoted to group director of customer logistics for CPG at Ryder, stole the spotlight as the overall winner in the “Top Transportation Professional” category. Chad oversees operations for more than a dozen customers with annual freight volumes exceeding $1 billion. By developing and refining Ryder’s real-time data analytics and monitoring capabilities, he enables teams to make faster, more informed decisions on critical operational matters.
Marissa Alfieri, senior manager for human resources at Ryder, is recognized in the “Rising Stars” category. Marissa plays a key role in developing effective HR strategies for talent acquisition and retention, noticeably reducing warehouse labor turnover across the locations she supports. And, her efforts to develop future leaders have contributed to a stronger, more capable workforce across Ryder’s supply chain network.
“Ryder’s people are the best in the business, because we show up every day determined to deliver on our promises to our customers – to make their supply chains better, faster, more resilient, and ultimately more competitive – so that they can focus on their customers,” says Steve Sensing, president of supply chain solutions and dedicated transportation solutions for Ryder. “Darin, Chad, and Marissa really are rock stars and deserving of this spotlight.”
